What is a Tune-Up ?

You keep your car in shape with a Tune-Up and oil change.

 

If you owned a piano, you would keep it in shape with a Tune-Up.

 

PC’s are not much different.

PC hard drives require regular maintenance.  Two kinds of maintenance are ideal.

 

Pop-Ups

PC’s can accumulate a lot of junk over time.  Think of all the pop-up windows with advertisements you’ve seen while surfing the Internet.  Likely, each one of those pop-ups has infected your PC with ad-ware, spy-ware or grey-ware.

 

Ad-ware is an infection that is usually harmless.  Spy-ware on the other hand, can be a bit more harmful.  Grey-ware is neither true ad-ware or spy-ware...it usually falls someplace in between.

 

Unless you have specific tools to combat these infections, you likely have them on your PC.  If you have high-speed Internet access, you are more than likely have your share of these on your PC.

 

Viruses

Virus infections are usually obtained via e-mail messages.  Not all anti-virus software is able, or equipped, to remove every virus that you may get.

 

Worms

Worms, the really destructive type, simply eat their way through data on your hard drive, without regard for where the file is located.

 

Hijacks

A hijack is a catch-all phrase for many different types of infections, like toolbars, buttons, downloaded program files and other nasty items that you did not request.  A literal hijack is one that redirects you to another website, other than the one you requested.

 

The Picture

Starting to get the picture ?  Now, once loaded with all of these items, and plenty of other types of infections, your PC can become exceedingly slow.  You may not notice the performance degradation over time, but the day will come when it is so slow, you can’t stand it.

 

In some cases, by this point, it is too late.  The infections have gotten the better of the machine.  But for most cases, it is not too late, and a Tune-Up can cure all of the problems infecting your PC.

 

If you have never had a Tune-Up, or any maintenance done to your PC, and it is more than 8 months old, you likely need a Tune-Up.  For longer periods of time and older ages, you may severely need a Tune-Up.

 

Not repairing a PC with these types of infections can, and most likely, will destroy your PC with the first 18-36 months that you own it.

 

Once the infections overcome your PC, it is often better (and less expensive) to rebuild your PC, as no Tune-Up will be able to repair it.

 

Frequency

A variety of factors influence the frequency for Tune-Ups.  Depending upon how often it is used, who uses it, where they go on the Internet, when the last time it was serviced, what software is used, etc., are all factors.

 

Our PC Tune-UP

The phrase PC Tune-Up is generic, so the buyer needs to beware of what they are getting for their money.  Tune-Ups range from a 2-point to 7-point, or even a 15-point service from major national companies whose names might be familiar.

 

Prices range from $10 to $95.  Most local shops perform a 7-point or 12-point Tune-Up, with prices ranging from $45 to $85.  And then there’s the pick-up charge, or the delivery charge, or the travel charge, etc., usually around $45.

 

Our PC Tune-Up is the most comprehensive available.  It consists of 32 different services.  We even perform cross-checks to ensure the quality of our work.

 

Our Tune-Up starts at about 6 or 8 hours and has been known to take even longer...it’s that extensive !  Our Tune-Up removes items our competitors don’t even think about looking for and removing.

 

Why ?  They want you to bring it back for an hourly repair.  We don’t believe that is fair.  That’s why our Tune-Up is so complete, and is just $125.
